Hello Hawk Families:
Please take note of these upcoming schedule reminders...
*Tuesday, April 28th is our Hawk Field Day. This is a chance for our students to participate in a variety of team building activities throughout the afternoon both inside and outside. Please review the Field Day Presentation to know the schedule for the day. If your student does not wish to participate, we ask that you complete the early dismissal form that was emailed home on April 17th as soon as possible. The deadline to complete the form is Friday, April 24th in order to allow our office staff to correctly document attendance and our cafeteria to plan for lunches. Please note that on Field Day afternoon, we will not be able to locate students for early dismissals that were not approved and entered into the system by the deadline.
*Please note that Tuesday, May 5th is a half day for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders with buses departing at 11:22am.. Student athletes that need to stay for athletic competitions will have a team study hall location, but must plan to provide their own lunch this day. The cafeteria will be closed due to a senior only event on Tuesday, May 5th.
*Friday, May 8th there is no school for students, this is a teacher professional development day.
Please review the weekly newsletter to stay informed.
Dress Code Reminders:
The weather has gotten nicer and students and families need to be reminded of our St. Georges Tech dress code:
*Tops must have straps that go over each shoulder and those straps must cover top of the entire shoulder.
*Necklines on tops may not be lower than the top of the armpits.
*A student's mid-section may not be exposed at any time during school hours.
*Pants that are constructed or worn in a manner that exposes skin and/or undergarments are not permitted unless the exposed skin is lower than fingertip length.
*The length of bottoms worn by students must be equal to or longer than the wearer's fingertips when standing upright, with arms hanging at the sides. Garments worn over stretch pants or hose must be equal to or longer than the wearer's fingertips when standing upright with arms hanging at the sides.
* Students are not permitted to wear sleepwear to school.
*Hats and hoodies are prohibited because they interfere with line of sight. Head wraps and hair covers are permitted as long as they do not interfere with any safety or industry- aligned expectations and the student's face remains visible.
*Sunglasses are not permitted in school unless medically necessary. A doctor’s note will be required to be on file.
Senior Section Updates:
Seniors will get their 2026 yearbooks during the senior lunch on Tuesday, May 5th. If you wish to order a package of the yearbooks from their entire time here for 2025, 2024, and 2023 so that you have a complete set of SG yearbooks, we have a special package available for $180 for all 3 years. These will be available first come, first served.
Please message Ms. Crumlish if you are interested.
Senior Recognition Tuesday, May 5th:
FAQ about Senior Recognition:
What is senior recognition? It is a ceremony to honor our seniors in a more personalized way than the formal graduation ceremony.
How will I know if my senior is getting an award or not?
You won’t. Mostly all of the awards spanning academics, athletics, service, and career are surprises. All seniors will go up on stage and have their name called to receive their career certificate.
What info do I need to know?
*Seniors that don’t have classes must arrive to school by 9:45am for a senior class meeting, and expect to be at school until 2:15pm. Seniors will also get their yearbooks this day, and can pick up prom tickets this day if they don’t have classes.
*Seniors should dress nice for the ceremony (dress pants, skirt, dress, nice tip or collared shirt, and nice shoes).
*Gym doors open for guests at noon. No tickets are required for this event. Ceremony will begin at 12:30pm and is expected to last until 2:10pm.
*What if my student doesn’t wish to attend this event? They can get their certificate/awards/medals later that week or at graduation practice on Thursday, May 21st at 1pm.
Senior Dues:
There are still some seniors who have not paid senior dues. Please get those taken care of. Seniors can pay senior dues in person with cash, check or tap pay or they can be paid online. Link and info is on senior webpage.
Senior Career Signing Event:
If your student has been offered employment by their co-op employer to continue after graduation, we want to celebrate them! View info on the senior webpage and have your senior sign up if they wish to participate in the senior signing event on May 12th.
Graduation:
Graduation ceremony is on Thursday, May 28th from 1:30pm-2:45pm at the University of DE Bob Carpenter Center. Doors will open at 12:30pm and it is a ticket only event (anyone over the age of 2 requires a ticket). There are no special handi-cap tickets required. Anyone with a need will be accommodated to sit in the bottom two rows of the venue and are able to have 1 person accompany them. Each graduate will get 10 tickets. We do have the opportunity, if seniors need more than 10 tickets, they can purchase up to 4 more tickets for $5 each. This must be done by the senior student and can be purchased using cash, check or tap pay. Seniors can purchase the extra tickets anytime they see Ms. Crumlish in the school store.
Seniors will get their graduation tickets and graduation gowns at the MANDATORY graduation practice on May 21st. At graduation practice, seniors will arrive between 12:40pm and 1pm for a 1pm start in the SG lecture hall and can expect to be there until 2:55pm at the latest.
