Principal and Administration

Meet the Principal, Dr. Shanta Reynolds
Welcome to St. Georges Technical High School! Our team’s philosophy is that every student and every teacher will learn and grow every day. Our instructors work alongside our students, reflect on critical feedback, and improve individually through developing a growth mindset. In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work (Dweck). It is our belief that students and educators learn and grow by attempting something new, working hard and making mistakes. Our goal is to develop independent learners that are capable to be
productive citizens in a diverse, global society.
Our students are exposed to a unique learning environment that bridges the gap between classroom learning and workplace skills. Each morning after the morning announcements, our student announcer concludes with the following slog
an: “Why walk? Be proficient, independent and fly like a Hawk!” The opportunities and partnerships that our students are exposed to will help them take hold of their learning and accomplish the future goals they strive to achieve.
I encourage you to explore our school’s website to learn more about what our school offers.

Meet the Vice Principals
Dr. Connor
“It is an honor to be a part of the St. Georges team. For eleven years I taught sixth grade in Pennsylvania. I also served one year as the Athletic Director at Garnet Valley Middle School. I spent four years as an assistant principal and athletic Director at Avon Grove High School in the Avon Grove School District. I received my bachelor’s degree from Neumann University (Elementary K--6). I obtained my master’s degree in Instructional Leadership at Cabrini College. In 2016, I acquired a doctorate in Administration and Policy at the University of Delaware. Believing that it takes a village to raise a child,

my goal is to build upon the positive and supportive culture that exists within St. Georges. I believe that all students can succeed, and through the collaborative efforts of the educational community, become productive members of society. We have the power to prepare our youth to make our world a better place. Working together with all community stakeholders, we can ensure that all students will learn and grow. Please feel free to contact me anytime. GO HAWKS!”

Mrs. Quarles

“It is my pleasure to serve as one of the three assistant principals at St. Georges. I began my administrative career as an assistant principal at Hodgson Vo-Tech High School in 2009, and I joined the St. Georges family in the fall of 2013. Prior to serving at Hodgson, I served as a guidance counselor and an English teacher at Delcastle Technical High School for twelve years. I have earned two Bachelor’s Degrees in Non-Teaching English and English Education from Delaware State University, and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Delaware State University, along with a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Wilmington University.”“The most rewarding part of my job is to see the students learn and grow each and every day at St. Georges. I believe also in educating the whole child. Thus, I make a point to interact with the students on a daily basis. I am able to greet them by name. This is a way for me to build a positive and professional rapport with students. In addition, it shows students that I care about their educational and personal well-being. I am always available to answer your questions and hear your concerns. Please feel free to contact me.”
