dancefloorDancing

**Please note there is dancing permitted, but the dance floor is limited to a few tables at a time spaced out in front of the DJ. There will be visual glow-in-the-dark tape on the dance floor to help students keep track of being safe and keeping distanced. Students will be permitted to dance socially distanced around the ballroom by their tables and outside on the patio. Please know that you will not be able to all gather on the dance floor at the same time. We will rotate tables on and off the dance floor for songs that students pre-request when completing the prom ticket form. dancefloor

This is exciting news! Dancing is still restricted at bars/restaurants. Deerfield submitted a proposal that was approved and we are grateful to have this opportunity for our seniors to have a prom.
We ask and know that our students will be respectful to staff and chaperones who remind them about social distancing requirements. We are all doing the best we can to have fun, memorable events while keeping our Hawks safe. We appreciate your cooperation with this!
Table of 6
Prom Tables
Students must select their prom table ahead of time. We need to submit a floor plan to Deerfield with where everyone is sitting along with their dinner choice selection. We have tables of 6 or 4.
Please view spacing and images of tables. We understand that you may have a larger group of friends that you wished to sit with (normally we would do tables of 10-12). Therefore, students may also indicate other groups of friends where they would like their
table of 4
table placed near if they unable to fit their whole group at one table. When purchasing a ticket, students are also able to request where they would like their table set up in the venue. Some may prefer their table to be set up close to the DJ while others may prefer and feel more comfortable with their table in another room by the games or photo booth. We are planning this event for our seniors and will be as accommodating as possible to make everyone feel comfortable and safe that wishes to attend.
Dress Code
Please view slides below of our SG Alumni for acceptable dress code choices. Fancy skirts and tops are ok, dress suits are ok, strapless if fine, halter is fine, two-piece dresses are fine (as long as the opening in the front is only 1 inch). Backless is fine (as long as the back does not dip below your waistline). Tuxedos and suits are great. Students should wear dress shoes.

letter of recommendation

If you are requesting a letter of recommendation from a teacher, please do not just put them down as a reference without talking to them first.

You should:

1. Actually ask your teachers or coaches to complete the letters of recommendations- not just send them electronic requests from the common app-they are easy to overlook in a crowded inbox and we do not want to overlook them, we want to support you!

AND

2. Provide your reference with personal information about you by completing the recommendation profile located in Schoology.

Directions on accessing the recommendation profile template: Go to Class of 2021 Schoology Group, Click on “Resources” on left hand side, Click on GREEN COLLEGE folder, Click on BLUE Recommendation folder, Complete the Template for your recommendation profile and provide your reference with that information so that they can write you a quality, detailed, and personal recommendation that will stand out to colleges.
