Senior Trip:
trip
The Trip is FULL, thanks to all of our seniors who submitted permission slips and deposits.

permit
This is a reminder that any Senior or Junior interested in driving to school must register their vehicle prior to parking at school.  Once registered, students will receive a parking permit and an assigned parking space.  Students are not permitted to drive to school if the following steps have not been completed:
  1. Print & Complete the SG Vehicle Registration Form (Click Here to Access)
  2. Bring your completed Registration Form and Required Documents (Vehicle Registration, Proof of Insurance, & Driver's License) to the Main Office for final approval
  3. Obtain your parking pass and locate your assigned parking space (parking spaces are assigned in the order that registrations are received, and students cannot request specific parking spaces)

Driving to school without properly registering vehicles and/or parking in non-assigned parking spaces may result in a loss of driving privileges and/or disciplinary action.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe learning community!

Attention Seniors:  The 25-26 FAFSA will require ALL students and parent contributors to have a created and verified FSA ID account (Username and Password) before starting a FAFSA application. This workshop is a “hands-on” in-school group workshop with one of Stand by Me NexGen’s FAFSA experts.  It will provide students and parents with actual, real-time assistance in creating an FSA ID.  It is most appropriate for Grade 12.  More information on creating a FAFSA ID Code can be found HERE.

The presentation will be Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, at 6:30pm in the Library.   Click HERE to register if you are a senior applying to college. See Mr. Bythwood with any questions.

Remember that students can make personal FAFSA appointments on the $tand By Me website:

https://standbymede.org/stand-by-me-nexgen/college-funding-project/

Here is a FAFSA Info sheet that gives you a preview of what to expect when completing the FAFSA.

Are you getting ready to apply for college?

If so, check out the attached matrix which lists application fee waiver codes for some local colleges.  This means you DO NOT have to pay the college application fee. There are deadlines for these, so pay attention!

Letter of recommendation

If you are requesting a letter of recommendation from a teacher, please do not just put them down as a reference without talking to them first.

You should:

1. Actually ask your teachers or coaches to complete the letters of recommendations- not just send them electronic requests from the common app-they are easy to overlook in a crowded inbox and we do not want to overlook them, we want to support you.

AND!

2. Provide your reference with personal information about you by completing the recommendation profile. Complete this template and provide your reference with that information so that they can write you a quality, detailed, and personal recommendation that will stand out to colleges.
