assembly

Members of the Class of 2028 will attend an assembly on Friday, October 24th from 2pm-3pm in the lecture hall. St. Georges Tech has a student-led organization called Student Led SL24 Team that focuses on promoting awareness and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health. They provide supervised peer mental health support and foster the idea that students who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed are not alone.

The main objective of the assembly is to educate and increase awareness of warning signs of depression and suicide, and to assist young people in navigating conversations with others to offer support through mental health challenges. The presentation aims to remove the stigma surrounding depression and suicide, and empower youth to take charge of their mental health

The speaker for this event is Angela Pugliese, Director of Sean's House. Students will also watch a video from the SL24 Foundation, linked below, telling the story of Sean Locke. The foundation was created in his honor. St. George's also has its own Sean's Room, a mini version of Sean's House. If time permits, we will do a Q/A. Support staff and guidance counselors are prepared to discuss any issues/concerns students may have after the presentation.

Here is the link to explain Sean's storythe origins of the UnLocke the Light Foundation, and resources available in Newark, DE at Sean’s House for students who are in need of mental health resources. Click here to hear more about Sean's Room at St. Georges.

permit

This is a reminder that any Senior or Junior interested in driving to school must register their vehicle prior to parking at school.  Once registered, students will receive a parking permit and an assigned parking space.  Students are not permitted to drive to school if the following steps have not been completed:
  1. Print & Complete the SG Vehicle Registration Form (Click Here to Access)
  2. Bring your completed Registration Form and Required Documents (Vehicle Registration, Proof of Insurance, & Driver's License) to the Main Office for final approval
  3. Obtain your parking pass and locate your assigned parking space (parking spaces are assigned in the order that registrations are received, and students cannot request specific parking spaces)

Driving to school without properly registering vehicles and/or parking in non-assigned parking spaces may result in a loss of driving privileges and/or disciplinary action.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe learning community!
