Hello Hawk Families:
Please review our weekly newsletter to know what is coming up this week.
*Please note that on Thursday, April 2nd there will be no 6pm activity bus transportation. Any students staying after for organized activities must have their own ride home.
*As we approach the upcoming spring break from April 3rd through April 12, 2026, the New Castle County Vocational Technical School District will be activating the ‘Vacation Scheduler’ for the SafeDE/HELPme application platform that has been relaunched for anonymous reporting for the 2025 – 2026 school year. During a scheduled vacation, users will be unable to submit an inquiry or use the HELPme Messenger. NCCVT will be unavailable, through the application platform, to receive and respond to inquiries during the spring break; however, resources continue to be available in the community. If you or someone you know is experiencing an emergency, please dial 911. Thank you and be well!

Prom Update:
Prom ticket sales are over, but students need to send Ms. Crumlish a message of who they want to sit with at prom by April 1st. Requests can be made with any number of people. If it is not a full table, you may be combined with another group. Students can also request to be next to other groups, but all information has to be sent in by April 1st. Prom tickets can be picked up a week before prom so the students do not lose their ticket and it will have their table number on it. Prom dress code presentation is on the senior webpage. Rides are asked to be at the Executive Banquet Hall at 10:30pm to pick students up on Friday, May 8th.
Senior Recognition Update:
Save the date for Tuesday, May 5th.
FAQ about Senior Recognition:
What is senior recognition? It is a ceremony to honor our seniors in a more personalized way than the formal graduation ceremony.
How will I know if my senior is getting an award or not?
You won’t. Mostly all of the awards spanning academics, athletics, service, and career are surprises. All seniors will go up on stage and have their name called to receive their career certificate.
What info do I need to know?
*Seniors that don’t have classes must arrive to school by 9:45am for a senior class meeting, and expect to be at school until 2:15pm. Seniors will also get their yearbooks this day, and can pick up prom tickets this day if they don’t have classes.
*Seniors should dress nice for the ceremony (dress pants, skirt, dress, nice tip or collared shirt, and nice shoes).
*Gym doors open for guests at noon. No tickets are required for this event. Ceremony will begin at 12:30pm and is expected to last until 2:10pm.
*What if my student doesn’t wish to attend this event? They can get their certificate/awards/medals later that week or at graduation practice on Thursday, May 21st at 1pm.
Senior Recognition and Graduation Speakers:
The deadline for our seniors to let us know they want to be considered for a speaking part at either end of the year ceremonies is April 1st. Details and link are on the senior webpage.
Senior Dues:
There are still some seniors who have not paid senior dues. Please note that starting April 1st, it will be $185. Please get those taken care of. Seniors can pay senior dues in person with cash, check or tap pay or they can be paid online. Link and info is on senior webpage.
Senior Career Signing Event:
If your student has been offered employment by their co-op employer to continue after graduation, we want to celebrate them! View info on the senior webpage and have your senior sign up if they wish to participate in the senior signing event on May 12th.
Graduation:
Graduation ceremony is on Thursday, May 28th from 1:30pm-2:45pm at the University of DE Bob Carpenter Center. Doors will open at 12:30pm and it is a ticket only event (anyone over the age of 2 requires a ticket). There are no special handi-cap tickets required. Anyone with a need will be accommodated to sit in the bottom two rows of the venue and are able to have 1 person accompany them. Each graduate will get 10 tickets. We do have the opportunity, if seniors need more than 10 tickets, they can purchase up to 4 more tickets for $5 each. This must be done by the senior student and can be purchased using cash, check or tap pay.
Seniors will get their graduation tickets and graduation gowns at the MANDATORY graduation practice on May 21st. At graduation practice, seniors will arrive between 12:40pm and 1pm for a 1pm start in the SG lecture hall and can expect to be there until 2:55pm at the latest.
